      Pre-Submission Requirements

Before submitting, authors are expected to ensure the following:

      Formatting:

Authors may submit manuscripts in any readable format. However, once a paper is accepted, the BRPI editorial team will format the final version according to the journal’s official layout. Authors are strongly encouraged to follow the Manuscript Preparation Guidelines available on our website to facilitate the review and publication process.

For further details on submission matters, please contact the Executive Editor at [email protected].

      Peer Review Policy

At the Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and rigor in the peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo a formal peer review to ensure scholarly excellence, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

      1. Review Models: Double-Blind and Single Review

BRPI employs one of the two peer review models, depending on the nature of the journal and the subject matter of the submitted manuscript:

Double-Blind Peer Review: The identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure objectivity and eliminate potential bias.

Single Peer Review: In some cases—particularly in niche or highly specialized fields—a single expert reviewer may be assigned. However, the process remains fully blind, meaning the identities of both the reviewer and the author are kept confidential.

In all cases, reviewer anonymity is strictly preserved, and authors are never informed of the reviewers’ identities during the review process.

      2. Reviewer Selection and Evaluation Criteria

Each manuscript submitted to a BRPI journal is evaluated by a minimum of two independent reviewers under the double-blind peer review model, and by one independent reviewer in cases where the single-reviewer model is applied. Reviewers are carefully selected by the editorial team based on their demonstrated expertise in the subject area, strong academic credentials, and relevant publication history. Additionally, reviewers must have a solid understanding of the journal’s disciplinary focus and methodological approaches to ensure a thorough and informed assessment.

During the peer review process, reviewers evaluate manuscripts according to several key criteria. These include the originality of the research and its contribution to the field, the soundness of the methodology and research design, and the clarity and coherence of the manuscript’s presentation. Reviewers also assess the significance and relevance of the work to the journal’s scope, as well as the accuracy of data interpretation and the appropriateness of referencing. This comprehensive evaluation ensures that all published work meets the highest academic standards.

      Reviewer Suggestions by Authors (Optional)

Authors are encouraged to suggest potential peer reviewers at the time of manuscript submission. Proposed reviewers should be experts in the relevant field and must have no conflict of interest with the authors. For each suggested reviewer, authors should provide the full name, institutional affiliation, and a professional email address. While all reviewer suggestions will be carefully considered by the editorial team, their inclusion does not guarantee selection. The final decision regarding the choice of reviewers rests solely with the editorial board to ensure an objective and unbiased review process.

      3. Transparency and Reviewer Acknowledgement

BRPI is committed to fostering transparency in scholarly communication and upholding the integrity of the peer review process. To that end, we take the distinctive step of publicly acknowledging our reviewers for their contributions. Upon final publication, reviewer information is included—where applicable—in both the review report shared with the authors and on the published article’s webpage. The details typically provided include the reviewer’s full name, ORCID iD, and institutional email address. In some cases, and only with explicit permission, a contact number may also be listed. This transparent practice not only enhances accountability but also ensures that reviewers receive appropriate recognition for their valuable role in maintaining academic quality and integrity.

      4. Review Timeline and Decision Process

The standard peer review process at BRPI typically takes 2 to 3 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript. Certain journals may offer an accelerated review cycle of up to two weeks for select submissions that meet specific editorial criteria.

Step 1: The review process begins with an initial editorial screening to evaluate the manuscript’s relevance to the journal and its compliance with submission guidelines.

Step 2: Suitable manuscripts are then assigned to qualified reviewer(s) based on subject expertise.

Step 3: Reviewer(s) provide detailed evaluations and recommendations, which may lead to one of the four editorial decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.

Step 4: If revisions are required, the revised manuscript is generally sent back to the same reviewer(s) to ensure consistency and maintain quality control.

Step 5: The final decision is made by the editorial board, taking into account all reviewer feedback and the overall suitability of the manuscript for publication.

      5. Post-Acceptance and Publication

Once a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author is notified and requested to pay the applicable publication fee. The author is informed of the anticipated online publication date.

      6. Commitment to Ethical Review

BRPI is committed to upholding internationally recognized standards of peer review and publishing ethics, in alignment with the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All reviews are conducted with fairness, confidentiality, and academic integrity.

      Publication Policy

At the Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI), we are committed to supporting transparent, ethical, and accessible scholarly communication. This publication policy outlines our standards and procedures related to publication fees, copyright, scheduling, DOI assignment, galley proof review, and post-publication processes across all BRPI journals.

      Open Access and Licensing

BRPI operates under a Gold Open Access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide without any subscription or paywall restrictions. To sustain open access publishing, a publication fee is charged to authors upon manuscript acceptance.

All published articles are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to share, use, adapt, and redistribute your work for any lawful purpose, provided appropriate credit is given. Authors retain full copyright and intellectual property rights over their work.

      Publication Fee and Waiver Policy

As noted above, BRPI operates under a Gold Open Access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to the public without subscription barriers.

      Publication Fee

Authors from high- and middle-income countries are required to pay a publication fee of USD 400 per accepted manuscript. A reduced fee of USD 300 applies to authors from low-income countries, as well as to PhD scholars and unemployed researchers or academics.

      Waiver Conditions

The USD 100 fee reduction for PhD scholars and unemployed researchers is only applicable if the manuscript has no more than two authors (including the eligible author). If a paper has more than two authors, the standard publication fee of USD 400 applies regardless of the authors' academic or economic status. Low-income countries are defined as those with a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita below USD 3,000.

      Additional Information

      1. The publication fee is only charged after the paper has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication.

      2. Print copies of the journal may be purchased separately for USD 50 per copy.

      3. BRPI adheres to industry standards in open access publishing and maintains a no full-waiver policy—all applicable fees are uniformly applied according to the criteria outlined above.

      Extended Period for Publication Fee

If the author(s) require additional time to make the publication fee payment, a deadline extension may be granted upon request. However, please note that the payment period cannot be extended beyond four (4) weeks from the date the acceptance notice is issued.

      Publication Schedule

BRPI follows a continuous publication model. Once a manuscript is accepted and the publication fee is confirmed, the paper is published within seven (7) days, provided the author completes all required steps on time. These steps include final proofreading and confirmation or update of the authors’ email addresses, ORCID iDs (optional), and short biographies.

Delays may occur if authors take additional time to review the galley proof or fail to provide the required materials within the specified deadline. Notably, all papers are published in the current year’s volume and will be included in the final compiled volume released at the end of the year.

      DOI Assignment and Crossmark

As an independent member of Crossref, the Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI) assigns a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each accepted manuscript. The DOI appears beneath the author's institutional affiliation in the final published version and serves as a permanent, citable link to the article. This unique identifier facilitates indexing, citation, and long-term accessibility.

In addition to the DOI, each article includes a Crossmark icon, which provides a direct link to the most current version of the publication. Through Crossref’s Crossmark service, readers can verify the status of the article, check for updates or corrections, and access related editorial information, ensuring ongoing transparency and scholarly integrity.

      Galley Proof

Prior to final publication, the galley proof of the manuscript is provided for review. This stage allows for any necessary corrections or formatting adjustments to ensure compliance with the journal’s publication standards. The galley proof is typically issued within three (3) working days following confirmation of the publication fee payment.

Acceptance Letter and Publication Fee Receipt

Following confirmation of the publication fee, the editorial office issues both the official acceptance letter and the fee receipt within three (3) working days. These documents serve as formal confirmation of payment and final acceptance for publication.

      Publication Notice

Upon online publication, the Executive Editor notifies the corresponding author, providing access to the publication link and a downloadable PDF version of the published article. Once the annual volume is complete, a compiled master file—including all published articles, the journal’s cover page, front and back matter, and masthead—is made available online.

      Print Copies

Authors who wish to obtain print copies of the journal may purchase them separately. Each print copy is available for USD 50, and orders can be placed after the article has been officially published. The print edition consists of the final compiled volume, which includes all articles published throughout the year.

      Corrections and Withdrawal

Post-publication corrections may be requested in cases of significant error. Such requests should be submitted to the Executive Editor within fourteen (14) days of publication. Approved corrections are made at no additional cost. For withdrawal requests after publication, an official written request must be submitted to the Executive Editor. The retraction process will be handled in accordance with the journal’s editorial and ethical policies.

      Archiving and Dissemination

All published articles are archived in leading academic platforms, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, SSRN, Academia.edu, and Scilit. Authors are encouraged to archive their work in institutional repositories or public databases and to link their publication, including the DOI, to their ORCID profiles. For enhanced visibility, authors may also share their published work across academic and professional networks, as well as on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).

      Editorial Support

For any questions or clarification regarding the publication process, the Executive Editor may be contacted at [email protected]. The editorial team remains available to provide assistance at every stage of publication.
